Colorado Springs: Pikes Peak & Garden of the Gods en Plein Air
New this year! Kathleen is teaching a 3-day workshop in Colorado Springs featuring days at both the Garden of the Gods and on the summit of Pike’s Peak. (No hiking necessary, ha! Students will drive up the historic auto route.) Registration limited to 16 students.
Mornings will feature full painting demonstrations and afternoons will be devoted to student work & individual instruction. We’ll talk about the composing the elements of a landscape painting, seeing atmosphere & creating atmospheric depth, anticipating light changes, and how our field studies can inform studio work.
All students receive a 40+ page full color handbook for the class. Register below before spots fill up! Feel free to reach out with questions. Colorado Springs is a large city with lots of options for places to stay, whether you prefer a hotel or AirBNB style setup. Travel to the city is fairly easy, too. The Colorado Springs airport (COS) is in the southern part of the city and the Denver Airport (DEN) is only a little over an hour north of Garden of the Gods. Both have rental car companies onsite.
REGISTRATION
Once you’ve reserved your spot, please fill out this form so I can learn more about you and your hopes for the class. The painting questions are optional, but they can helpful if I know a little about your work ahead of time.
